Bruce Randall Hornsby (* 23. November 1954 in Williamsburg, Virginia) Is an American singer, pianist and songwriter. His music combines different styles of Pop and Jazz until Bluegrass.
Life and work
Hornsby has been known throughout the world in 1986 with his hit The Way It IsThat in the U.S. # 1 reached. For the eponymous album, which he and the followers Scenes From The Southside (1988) and A Night on the Town (1990) with his band The Range He received his first recorded Grammy Best New Artist. In the 1990s, Hornsby continued his career as a solo artist and released several albums.
In addition to his solo projects Hornsby also worked together with many other famous musicians, such as Bill Evans, Pat Metheny, Don Henley or Bonnie Raitt. For Huey Lewis he wrote in 1986 hit Jacob's Ladder and Henley The End Of The Innocence.
